Job Description
- Job Title: Program Coordinator
- Reports to: Program Manager
- Working Hours: Monday - Friday (evenings and weekends as needed)
- Job Type: Full-time (37.5hrs/week)
- Salary: $26.00-$33.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, facilitate and evaluate mentoring programs and events.
- Liaise with Program Facilitators to ensure successful program delivery.
- Conduct program intakes, assessments, pre-match trainings, closures and complete all required documentation in accordance with policies, procedures, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada National Standards.
- Complete all administrative functions as required to maintain case notes on all clients in accordance with the BBBSC Standards. This includes becoming proficient in using Dynamics CRM Database.
- Support any additional administration of program delivery as needed.
- Maintain and foster positive relationships with schools, community youth service agencies, other community groups, clubs and the general public as required.
- Provide reports with service delivery updates to the Program Manager.
- Assist with other BBBSWB events and initiatives as required.
- All other duties deemed necessary.
Qualifications
In accordance with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada’s national Child Safety standards, all Service Delivery staff must “have specific training in understanding human growth and development, appropriate interpersonal skills, child safety training, and volunteer program management.” For this position, this training shall include post-secondary in education, human/ social services, psychology, and/or family sciences with the minimum two-year diploma in related fields. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in fields listed above.
In addition to this, the incumbent shall also possess:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children ages 6-18 and/or their families
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an Educational Institution, Social Services, Non-Profit environment or equivalent experience will be considered
- Experience with a variety of agencies and individuals
- Experience facilitating large groups of children, teens, adults and peers
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural ethnicities (specifically Indigenous, Aboriginal/First Nations, Métis, Inuit)
- Ability to work independently and as part of an integral team
- Strong computer skills, efficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Valid Class 5 drivers license and access to a personal vehicle
- Clean Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Pay: $26.00-$33.00 per hour
