Job Description - HCA LTC
The Role: As an HCA in LTC, you will assist healthcare professionals by providing essential personal care, supporting the special needs of residents, and ensuring a safe, compassionate environment.
Responsibilities:

Providing assistance with personal care needs of patients including preventative skin care, hygiene, grooming and dressing, nutrition, use and care of adaptive aids/prosthesis, elimination, and toileting.

Assisting and attending to special needs of the patients.

Escorting patients into diagnostic tests as needed.

Collecting and monitoring patient information.

Taking the patient’s height and weight and documenting the care given accordingly.

Maintaining the safety and comfort of patients by ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors and adhering to hospital infection control measures.
Requirements:

Current and active licensure with CLHA (General Register).

Current and active N95 Fit Test.

Valid VSS dated within 90 days of placement start date.

Minimum 2 years of HCA experience within the last 3 years is required.

Experience with patients that have dementia and palliative care is required - must be clearly noted on the candidate resume.

Experience with catheter and ostomy care is required - must be clearly noted on the candidate resume.

Experience with operating mechanical lifts is required - must be clearly noted on the candidate resume.
