Digital Marketing Specialist

Calgary Homeless Foundation commits to guide the fight against homelessness. The Position
We are looking for a creative, curious, and organized team player that wants to grow their communication and marketing skills while supporting CHF’s purpose to guide the fight against homelessness. This includes all things social media and website: reporting on it, creating and updating content and being a champion of trying new things. You will have lots of opportunity to coordinate and collaborate with other CHF departments, external stakeholders and vendors while supporting CHF’s purpose and ambition. This position reports to the Director, Stakeholder Engagement.
Areas of Accountability
Working with other members of the Stakeholder Engagement department, the Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for the following:
- Plan, research and create story ideas and content for internal and external audiences that are timely and relevant and posted across all digital platforms
- Develop and maintain the content calendar for digital platforms allowing CHF to strategically plan communications
- Oversee all social media and website content, aligning it with overall strategic direction of Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintains and updates social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube), websites and intranet and reports on each of them including back-end updates
- Lead and maintain website analytics including Google, UTMs and QR codes utilization
- Take, create, and edit photos, videos, and audio communications
- Create reports on the growth and analytics of campaigns across various digital platforms
- Coordinate with external suppliers involved in communication/publication initiatives to ensure projects are completed on time and to the expected standard
- Collaborate with your team to brainstorm and execute communications and marketing activities in a creative way
- Develop and maintain the organization's collateral as required
- Provide event planning support to conferences, sponsorships and other general events as necessary
- Support communication activities as assigned by the Director, Stakeholder Engagement.
Required Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary credential in communications, marketing, or public relations
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing and communications role
- Demonstrated experience in managing social media, creating posts, tracking, and reporting analytics
- Strong skills with graphic design, video and photography
- Proficient with a Content Management System (CMS) to update website content (WordPress, Squarespace, or other)
- Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline sensitive environment
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in a collaborative team with an openness to share information, knowledge, and experience
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written for multiple mediums
- Strong computer skills (i.e.: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Sprout, etc.)
- Occasionally, some after hours/weekend events will take place requiring your participation and support outside of normal working hours
