Adecco is currently hiring a full-time meticulous and analytical Project Cost Analyst to work for our client in Kitimat, BC. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial integrity and cost efficiency of our projects. The Project Cost Analyst will work closely with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to monitor, analyze, and report on project costs, ensuring projects are completed within budget and financial targets are met.

Responsibilities:
- Provides advanced cost control support to assigned project management teams.

Work closely with Project Controls Lead, Construction and Engineering leads to initiate purchase orders and change orders and ensure completeness and accuracy of requisition instructions. This could involve collecting information from multiple data sources.

Act as the single point of contact for the accurate creation of purchase requisitions through collaboration with RTBS relevant stakeholders.

Monitor and provide insights to stakeholders on status of purchase and change orders, as needed and Excel reports.

Analyze contractors' cost reports and extract necessary data for management reporting.

Proactively advise management of forecasted costs exceeding the approved budget.

Prepares project monthly cost reports and presentations, highlighting key accomplishments, risks, cost reporting, earned value, change management and changes monthly.

Analyzes project costs (project progress monitoring vs actual budget + forecast), conducts the forecast update meeting with the Project Manager, records monthly and yearly accruals, prepare and issue first draft forecasts and reconciles work progress with billed work (unbilled work) on monthly basis.

Identify opportunities of Project Controls improvement for management review and consideration.

Acts in the owner's best interest by interacting with internal technical and functional groups and Turnkey Contractor for project success.

Perform any other duty related to the safe delivery of the project that may be assigned by the Project Controls Lead or the Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical disciplines and a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in EPC industry.

Knowledge in capital cost and services cost.

Knowledge of scope change management.

Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.

Proficiency in using MS office application for cost analysis.

Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to cost problems.

Knowledge in the use of computers and several basic software applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint for executing work processes.

Skilled in oral and written communication.

Strong communication, leadership and organization skills.

Proven experience and ability in planning, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating and cost control.

Strong knowledge of the "Earned Value Management" principles with the ability to produce, read and modify schedules and scheduling curves/reports.
