Job Title International Recruitment Officer and Team Lead
Position Details
The University of Lethbridge is looking for a forward thinking, motivated individual to fill a full-time, continuing position of International Recruitment Officer and Team Lead. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director, International and will work in collaboration with the Executive Director, creating comprehensive multi-year enrolment, recruitment, and marketing strategy to increase international student enrolments.

The major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing and implementing appropriate sales and marketing strategies for growing markets;
  • Leading, planning and executing strategies for the international recruitment team;
  • Leading and maintaining institutional policies and procedure for working with international educational consultants/agents. This includes commission payment management, agent evaluation and training, and agent relationship building;
  • Supporting the Executive Director with the performance Evaluation process of International Recruitment Officers;
  • Promoting the University of Lethbridge’s programs and special qualities, including the EAP programme in the ELI, in order to recruit international students according to management objectives. This includes actively creating and maintaining an on-line presence for the University of Lethbridge International and the ELI on appropriate social media platforms and digital lead-generation platforms;
  • Representing the University of Lethbridge at education fairs, secondary school visits and college visits;
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders and internal staff members;
  • Advising prospective students, parents and counsellors on all aspects of academic program options;
  • Correspond, train, and evaluate current and future educational agents;
  • Delivering recruitment presentations in group settings;
  • Managing international inquiries and encouraging applications;
  • Assisting with the development of promotional materials;
  • Performing additional related duties as required;
This position may require travel throughout the year with extended stays in foreign countries where evenings, weekends, and long hours are required. The successful candidate will need to be or quickly become familiar with the distinctive programs offered at the University of Lethbridge and with a variety of international secondary and post-secondary educational systems.

Hiring Range: $50,198.00-$63,149.00 Annually

Position Qualifications
The position requires an undergraduate degree (preferably from the University of Lethbridge) and at least three years of related work experience in sales/marketing with exceptional presentation, communication and interpersonal skills and two years of supervisory experience. Previous experience should demonstrate a strong work ethic, high initiative, and independent decision-making ability. The successful candidate must have a valid passport for travel.

Preference will be given to those who have:
  • Experience in cross-cultural settings and/or international travel;
  • Knowledge of a second language;
  • International student liaison/recruitment experience;
  • Post-secondary education in sales/marketing, or public relations experience.
