The successful candidate for this position has proven experience in planning and managing projects and managing a team. We are looking for someone that has been engaged in developing their own leadership style; a leader that wants to help others reach their potential, wants to achieve results, and is team focused. Strong communication skills are also important to succeed in this role.
In addition to being a skilled manager, the following would be considered assets:
- Knowledge of Nova Scotia’s geology and/or geology of the northeast Appalachians, including mineral deposit environments in the region
- An understanding of the current trends in the mineral exploration industry and issues related to public geoscience
- Research experience
- Eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia
