Great-West Life is currently looking for a Customer Service & Communication Consultant to join our Group Retirement Services (GRS) team in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Client Services this role focuses on developing strong relationships through proactive servicing of the retirement plan for customers within the region, facilitating member education session(s) for new implementations and ongoing, implementing new plans, developing communication strategies and working with internal business partners to ensure we meet the needs of our customers.

When fully trained, this position will have advanced level knowledge of the group retirement business. Being able to work independently and as part of a team to build strong customer relationships is the key to success in this role. By focusing on the needs of our customers and building their trust you will grow our group retirement business through the retention of customer assets, increasing plan membership and contributions as well as transfer new assets from other financial institutions.

Accountabilities:
Primary focus on educating and proactively servicing all clients within the National Service Program
Incumbent must manage education sessions and servicing clients with emphasis on time and cost management (travel budget)
Work with Plan Sponsors to emphasize and encourage high plan member enrolment
Develop and/or support customized project plans for new case implementations
Develop and deliver member communication & education strategies (member presentations, written communication within GRD marketing guidelines and observing market conduct issues)
Works closely with other Client Relationship Manager to ensure appropriate educational sessions and communications are provided to client set as per the National Service Program
Participate in finalist meetings to describe your role & value added education services you provide to members under CAP guidelines
Identify customer needs and provide appropriate products and solutions
Introducing new product and service enhancements to our customers
Works as part of a team to update and improve content of GRS standard education sessions
Contributes to the growth of the average assets per member

Qualifications and Competencies:
A career progression that demonstrates a strong understanding of group retirement customers products and processes along with success in servicing a large customer base.
Customer service focus with an ability to build strong relationships with clients, our broker / advisor community and consultants
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, that demonstrates a polished, professional manner and ability to listen, negotiate and collaborate
Superior presentation skills with a proven ability to present investment and retirement planning topics to pension committees, plans sponsors and group audiences
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to fluctuating work volumes while working independently
Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
Background in financial services industry
Analytical aptitude with strong capacity to make decisions and be innovative in problem solving
Retirement Plan Associate Designation (CEBS)
Valid driver’s license and vehicle are necessary due to the travel requirements
Overnight travel will be required
