AQUATECH is a privately owned Canadian corporation established in 1981, specialising in management, operation, and maintenance services for both water and wastewater facilities. AQUATECH is the largest private operator of water and wastewater treatment plants in Canada.
We are presently seeking a qualified Water Treatment Plant (WTP) or Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operator to work on a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) rotation supporting large mining contracts across Manitoba, British Columbia, and Alberta. This position is based out of our Cochrane, AB office. AQUATECH is looking for an individual who is seeking a career with our rapidly expanding company, and is eager to learn.

Job Description
Main Responsibilities
Working under the guidance of the supervisor responsible, for conducting the daily operation and maintenance of the water/wastewater treatment facility on site. The main responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Operate and monitor WTP/WWTP processes and equipment in accordance with permits, regulations, and site requirements;
-
Perform routine sampling, testing, and process adjustments to maintain compliance;
-
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment;
-
Complete and maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and required documentation;
-
Respond to alarms and operational issues, including after-hours as required while on rotation;
-
Follow all site-specific health and safety protocols for remote/mining camp environments;
-
Assist other operators and service crew members as required;
-
Communicate effectively with site supervisors, client representatives, and AQUATECH staff.
Schedule
-
Rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off;
-
Shift length: 12 hours per day (base);
-
On-call emergency
-
Fly-in / fly-out (FIFO) to mining sites in Manitoba, British Columbia, Alberta, etc.;
-
Per diem could be applicable for the duration of the rotation;

Position reports through the AQUATECH office in Cochrane, AB.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
-
Able to work in a remote camp setting and adapt to varying site conditions;
-
Valid WWTP or WTP operator certification — minimum Level I required for WTP;
-
Provincial certification from any Canadian province accepted, with the exception of Quebec;
-
Willingness and ability to work a FIFO rotation to remote mining sites;
-
Previous experience operating water and/or wastewater treatment facilities preferred;
-
Willingness to learn and improve your skills;
-
Compile and complete reports and all required documentation;
-
Be motivated, available, and polyvalent;
-
Respond and communicate efficiently to client inquiries and maintain good relations with public, office staff, co-workers, and contractors;
-
Have effective organization skills;
-
Able to work under pressure quickly and efficiently;

Excellent problem-solving skills;
-
Ability to work under minimal supervision;
-
Good communication skills, both written and verbal;
-
Have a positive attitude and able to promote a positive image of AQUATECH.
