Job Description: Outdoor Pool Lifeguard
Job Overview:
We are seeking full time and part time lifeguards for our upcoming fall season. The position starts at early as Aug 14th 2023 and would end last week of Oct. The lifeguard will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of swimmers and members at our four outdoor pool facility.
Responsibilities:
1. Water Safety: Monitor pool areas and waters actively, ensuring swimmers' safety, preventing accidents, and responding promptly to any potential hazards or emergencies.
2. Enforce Rules: Enforce pool rules and regulations consistently to maintain order and prevent unsafe behavior or activities.
3. Rescue and First Aid: Be prepared to perform water rescues and administer first aid when necessary, following established protocols and guidelines.
4. Facility Maintenance: Assist with pool maintenance tasks, including cleaning pool decks, organizing equipment, and performing regular safety checks.
5. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with other lifeguards and pool staff, reporting incidents and observations promptly to supervisors.
6. Training and Certification: Attend and successfully complete lifeguard training/facility orientation and maintain up-to-date certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, and AED use.
7. Adherence to Policies: Comply with all facility policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all visitors.
Requirements:
1. Lifeguard Certification: Possess a current and valid National Lifeguard Certificate, including CPR-C, Standard First Aid, and AED certification.
2. Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with swimmers, staff, and emergency personnel calmly and professionally.
3. Observational Skills: Strong situational awareness and the ability to proactively identify potential hazards or unsafe behaviours.
4. Responsibility: Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility and dedication to maintaining pool safety.
5. Adaptability: Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adjust work hours to meet operational needs, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Previous Lifeguard Experience: Prior experience as a lifeguard at outdoor pool facilities is advantageous.
2. Additional Certifications: Additional certifications such as Swim Instructor, and advanced first aid training is advantageous (Airway management, CPR-HCP, etc.).

Salary: $17.00 per hour
