Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using various hand tools and equipment
- Prepare work sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and organizing materials for efficient workflow
- Support carpenters and other tradespeople in measuring, cutting, and fitting roofing components according to blueprints and project specifications
- Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials such as shingles, plywood, and metal panels safely and efficiently
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing integrity around flashing, vents, and joints
- Read blueprints and construction plans to understand project scope and specific requirements
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste properly throughout the job site
Requirements
- Prior construction experience or hands-on handyman work preferred; familiarity with roofing is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and caulking guns effectively
- Physical strength to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during work shift
- Carpentry skills that support accurate measurements, cutting, and fitting of roofing materials
- Strong safety awareness with a focus on proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
