We are currently seeking a motivated General Laborer/ Machine Operator to join our Slab Prep Services team. This position will work alongside experienced landscapers to assist in the installation of various landscaping elements, including plants, trees, hardscapes, and irrigation systems. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and have a passion for beautifying outdoor environments.
Responsibilities:
- General labour: heavy lifting/manual labour.
- Maintaining cleanliness at work sites and with tools & machines.
- Assisting with planting, installing lawns, building walls and laying pavers.
- Keen eye for detail; the role is all about job completion tasks.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet project deadlines.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and workflow.
- Keen eye for detail; ability to operate the machine with precision.
- Assisting with other tasks, as required (includes hardscaping, soft scaping, labour work)
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction, or related field preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in construction site preparation, including grade prep and ground leveling
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and carrying heavy objects.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Excavator or bobcat operation is an asset
