Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Associate – Shipper/Receiver plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of the warehouse. This position is responsible for receiving inbound shipments, staging customer orders, coordinating customer pickups, maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing warehouse space, and supporting overall warehouse efficiency.
This is a physically demanding role requiring the regular use of both motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of oversized products, including appliances, furniture, and fixtures, while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, product care, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload inbound trailers (Full Truckload and Less-Than-Truckload shipments) containing oversized products using established handling procedures.
- Monitor inbound shipment schedules and assist in planning daily dock and warehouse activities.
- Follow established receiving processes and ensure accurate product counts and documentation using Home Delivery applications.
- Stage and pick customer orders accurately and on time, with a goal of achieving 100% order accuracy.
- Coordinate customer pickup activities, including customer notifications and physical loading of merchandise.
- Conduct formal and informal cycle counts for key accounts, investigate inventory discrepancies, and work with Logistics Coordinators to resolve issues.
- Support Home Delivery Coordinators with operational duties as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, including floor cleaning, waste removal, and upkeep of common areas.
- Continuously organize and relocate inventory to maximize warehouse capacity and improve product flow.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and product handling standards to minimize damages and maintain service quality.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working in a warehouse, logistics, transportation, or distribution environment.
- Proficiency with material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control processes.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle products weighing over 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
