We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager for a well established Engineering Consulting client of ours in the Vancouver area. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, manage a diverse portfolio of mechanical engineering projects, and mentor a team of engineers while building strong relationships with clients across a range of industries,
including mining, bulk material handling, energy, ports, and heavy industrial sectors. As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee project delivery, drive business development initiatives, support resource planning, and contribute to the strategic direction and continued growth of our clients Mechanical Engineering Group in British Columbia and across North America.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of mechanical engineering projects
- Lead, mentor, develop, and support career development of mechanical engineering staff
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and financial performance to meet client expectations and company objectives
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for engineering studies, reports, specifications, calculations, construction documents, and engineering deliverables
- Conduct technical reviews of engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company practices, and where required, sign and seal engineering drawings, reports, and design packages
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, construction support, and commissioning activities as required
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying new business opportunities
- Contribute towards technical proposals, scope development, effort estimates, and fee proposals for new opportunities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, structural, civil, and electrical and coordinate engineering resources across North American offices
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, design practices, and quality assurance
processes across the Mechanical Engineering Group
Support departmental planning by monitoring group utilization, forecasting workload,
allocating resources, and identifying staffing needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (EGBC)
- Minimum 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including industrial or mining projects
- 5+ years of leadership or engineering management experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams while delivering high-quality engineering solutions
- Experience with bulk material handling, mining, industrial processing, ports, or heavy industrial facilities
- Strong knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and industry best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel to the U.S.
