Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced French Immersion educator to serve as our Academic Lead for elementary programs.
This role focuses on curriculum design, academic oversight, and teacher support rather than full-time classroom teaching.
You will help shape the academic structure of our programs and ensure high-quality instruction across all classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop French Immersion curriculum for elementary students (Grades K–7)
- Create structured lesson plans and learning materials
- Support reading, writing, vocabulary, and oral French development
- Train and guide Assistant Teachers
- Ensure consistency and quality across programs
- Contribute to program development and improvement
- Support public speaking program design (optional workshops)
Qualifications
Preferred:
- BC Certified Teacher (or equivalent)
- Experience in French Immersion elementary education
- Strong background in literacy (reading/writing instruction)
- Curriculum development experience
Strong Assets:
- Leadership or mentor teacher experience
- Experience in tutoring or after-school programs
- Public speaking or communication program experience
Schedule
Part-Time / Flexible
- 10–20 hours per week
- Curriculum planning can be done flexibly
Compensation
$28–$40/hour depending on experience
