Position Overview
We are seeking a Design/Drafting Technologist to join our team out of our Bedford, Nova Scotia Office. This individual will enjoy challenges, want to make a difference, and thrive in a fast-paced, exciting work environment with a growing Nova Scotian company. Seize this opportunity to interact and create relationships with professionals in the design and construction community.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting Work: Prepare medium and low voltage technical electrical engineering design drawings and specifications including power, communications, fire alarm, lighting, security, and audio/visual systems.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate drafting work seamlessly with designers and engineers.
- Critical Review: Think critically about drafting assignments and actively apply basic building code requirements.
- Site Inspections: Perform site reviews and compile associated reports prior to, during, and after construction completion.
- Meetings: Attend and participate in design coordination meetings.
Credentials & Skills
- Software Proficiency: Proficient with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and adopt new software platforms.
- Professional Development: Open to continuously increasing knowledge regarding building codes and construction standards.
- Technical Knowledge: Knowledgeable in standard engineering methods, techniques, logic, and reasoning to evaluate alternative design solutions.
- Tools: Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Communication: Effective at communicating information and ideas clearly in a professional environment.
