Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Marketing Director, Portfolio Lead will oversee the strategic growth for multiple brands representing a category portfolio of $100m+ in sales and corresponding investment. The Portfolio Lead will manage a brand portfolio that represents a significant portion of GSK CH Canada’s overall performance, thereby critical to overall company results. This role is responsible for recommending and deploying financial and people resources to maximize portfolio P&L performance and for the growth and development of junior associates within marketing to build future leaders.

Primary Responsibilities:
Lead a team of 2-4 brand leaders with experiences ranging from senior to junior responsible for the day-to-day delivery of brand metrics as well as the overall strategic growth plans for their assigned brands within portfolio
Coach and develop team to ensure they have the right marketing capabilities to support the marketing operating model, deliver growth objectives to the business, and deliver strong succession plans for marketing organization
Accountable for delivery of annual portfolio P&L, including sales and profit results; actively manage A&P budget items and effectively deploy financial and people resources to maximize overall portfolio performance
Develop, adapt, and refine strategic direction for assigned portfolio, grounded in superior consumer and customer insights and aligned to long-term growth priorities of the Canadian organization, including innovation strategy
Drive accountability with brand team for superior execution of programs and plans, tracking results on key brand programs, recommending course correction as necessary based on performance vs. Key Performance Indicators
Ensure teams successfully lead the development of annual market activation planning focused on 3-year growth drivers, demonstrating strong leadership of brand centric cross-functional team
Influence and hold accountable team members/peers of both local cross-functional teams and global category teams to ensure that business partners deliver to Canada’s needs
Contribute to culture building activities for the team, as member of Marketing Leadership

Qualifications Required:
Education: Undergraduate University Degree required,

Experience: 7+ years of brand marketing experience in CPG or OTC marketing

Proven experience in delivering insights-based consumer communications delivering brand share growth
Experience in large scale new product launches; collaboration with global teams; delivering results in a matrix org.
Strong financial capabilities and business acumen
Must have the ability to coach and mentor junior marketing associates, ideally demonstrated through previous people management experiences
Experience working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
Demonstrated experience in influencing for change with senior leaders
Must have the ability to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations including organizational changes and changes in job demands
Proficient in MS Office suite of software with advanced skills in developing presentations in PowerPoint
Experience in a cross-functional assignment in sales a definite asset
Experience in large OTC/HABA a definite asset

Preferred Qualification:
Masters degree
