Kichton Contracting is seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team. Kichton Contracting Ltd (KCL) has been in business since 1963 and is based out of Acheson, Alberta, Canada. KCL is classified as a medium-sized civil earthworks contractor. Our work ranges from residential earthworks, commercial site development, to industrial projects. Our services include grading design for all types of new commercial and industrial sites along with retrofitting existing sites to accommodate new site development.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Follow and promote Kichton’s safety values and programs.
- Liaise with Project Managers on various sites/projects and provide advice, project risks, direction, timelines and guidance
- Scheduling for projects and ensuring resources are available.
- Source materials, sub contractors, and other project essentials.
- Plan internal start-up and external client meetings.
- Check site readiness prior to mobilization.
- Site compliances and inspections.
- Issue DFAs and POs as needed.
- Work with safety to develop JHAs.
- Complete job closeout and final walkdown.
- Inspect and assure that quality of work meets Kichton (and clients) standards
- Confer with HR to ensure staffing needs are met for assigned sites
- Oversee and manage Kichton foreman- mentor, support, communicate and be the main point of contact between site foreman and upper management.
- Resolve delays and other problems that may arise due to emergencies or unforeseen issues impacting project timelines.
- Fill out reports, project plans and present information to relevant stakeholders
- Attend meetings pertaining to project oversight, strategic planning etc., as needed
- Utilize internal company software to keep company data up to date
- Respond to emails in a timely manner and communicate well to colleagues and third parties
- Travel to sites in various locations as required
Qualifications and Competencies
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience supervising heavy equipment crews involved in construction related to water, sewer and underground utilities
- Strong knowledge of underground utility installation, including water sanitary and storm systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (outlook, teams, OneDrive, Excel) and project management software
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract
- CSTS-2020, Ground Disturbance II required
- H2S, and Leadership in Safety Excellence certification are assets
- Ability to adhere with commercial driving policy, including drug & alcohol testing.
Pay: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
