What You Will Be Doing:
· Collaborate with team members to develop and execute the organization's digital marketing and social media strategy.
· Create and deliver content that aligns with communication calendars, campaign objectives, and organizational priorities.
· Plan, develop, and source compelling messaging that reflects The Humane Society's mission, values, and impact.
· Manage, monitor, and grow engagement across all social media platforms and digital content channels.
· Oversee website updates and create engaging, SEO-optimized content that enhances visibility and user experience.
· Troubleshoot and resolve digital media issues to ensure seamless online communications.
· Design and develop impactful written and visual content for digital media, print materials, and other marketing initiatives.
· Capture, produce and edit high-quality photography and videography that showcases our work, community, and animals in our care.
· Ensure all content adheres to brand standards while effectively communicating organizational goals, programs, and services.
· Identify and leverage emerging platforms, trends, and best practices to expand reach, engagement, and audience growth.
· Create relevant, value-driven content for community boards, event calendars, partner networks, and stakeholder platforms.
· Manage online forms and digital resources, ensuring timely and optimal updates.
· Provide live event coverage and visual storytelling through photography and content creation at programs, events, and community initiatives.
· Build, share and nurture an active presence in online communities while developing strategies to increase blog readership and website engagement.
· Utilize analytics and performance data to measure results, identify opportunities, and continuously optimize marketing and communication efforts.
Qualifications & Skill Required:
· Post-secondary graduate in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field
· Experienced in graphic design and content creation using Canva Pro
· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign)
· Experienced in photography/videography and DSLR camera use
· Skilled in writing strategic, brand-aligned content across platforms
· Detail-oriented with strong proofreading and communication skills
· Knowledgeable in social media platforms and tools (Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, LinkedIn, Hootsuite)
· Comfortable using MS Office, databases, and PowerPoint
· Familiar with web design platforms such as Contentful or WordPress (an asset)
· Analytical, with the ability to produce detailed reports
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
· Organized, with excellent time management and multitasking abilities
· Possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills
· Highly skilled in Facebook, Google, or Hootsuite
· Hold a valid Ontario driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle
Working Conditions:
· Work will be conducted at both Kitchener and Stratford locations, with travel to event sites as required
· Available to attend work-related events/fundraisers during evenings or weekends.
· Frequent use of computers and mobile devices; manual dexterity required
· Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, and sitting.
· Thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with regular interaction with animals, staff, volunteers, and community members.
