Previous experience as a Home Support Worker, Personal Care Attendant, or equivalent
Comfort Home Care is currently seeking a female Home Support Worker to provide personal care and daily living assistance to an adult female client in her home. The ideal candidate will be respectful, patient, and experienced in providing support to the individual.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
- Perform safe transfers using a mechanical lift
- Support mobility and positing needs
- Preparation of meals
- Provide light housekeeping and laundry
- Monitor and report and changes in the clients condition
- Promote the client's dignity, comfort, and independence
Qualifications
- Experience with a mechanical lift (training can be provided)
- Current First Aid/CPR
- Clear Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector (Cannot be any older than 6 months and must be from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary)
- Medical (Must be signed by a doctor or nurse practitioner)
- Immunization Record
- TB test (first and second step)
- 3 references
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and follow a care plan
- Reliable transportation as the location is not on a bus route
Requirements
- Female applicant required due to the personal care needs and privacy considerations of the female client
- Physically capable of assisting with transfers and mobility support using approved lifting equipment
- Dependable, compassionate, and professional
Hours
Monday-Friday: 7:00pm-10:00pm
Every Sunday: 2:00pm-10:00pm
Wadge
$20.30 per hour plus 4% vacation
