Job Description
Shubh Engineering is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to work on projects throughout Northern Ontario. Projects include highway and road widenings, pavement rehabilitations, bridge replacements and rehabilitations.
The successful candidate will conduct daily inspections to determine contract adherence and conformance with contract specifications, and document site conditions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections in accordance with MTO's Construction Administration and Inspection Specifications (CAIS).
- Report installed quantities to verify applications for monthly payment and change order work.
- Maintain detailed diaries and photographs documenting daily construction activities.
- Maintain office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and other documentation required by the construction contract.
- Verify compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate onsite sub-consultants and quality assurance material testing.
Qualifications
A combination of the following education and experience is required:
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, and/or a combination of related experience.
- OACETT as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi).
- 5+ years of experience in construction inspection with MTO or municipal transportation projects.
- Knowledge of the requirements of MTO's Construction Administration and Inspection Specifications (CAIS).
- Knowledge of applicable design standards, OPS specifications, standard drawings, and quality control / quality assurance material testing methods.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use computer software such as MS Word and Excel.
- Valid Class "G" driver's license and transportation.
- Willingness to travel.
- Ability to lift 25 kg.
Pay: $33.00-$52.61 per hour
