Accounts Payable Specialist
LiveCA LLP
Canada
Contract Position, April 1st, 2019 - May 31, 2020, with a potential to stay on full-time.

About Us

LiveCA LLP is Canada’s largest online Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) firm serving customers in every province. We’re a 45 person remote team and work closely together through online tools like Slack and Zoom.

We’re a customer service firm first and an accounting firm second. We’re incredibly focused on serving our customers and what matters to us is not the cut of your suit, but how you approach problems, offer solutions, and contribute to the team. We don’t believe in billing by the hour and expect that everyone will contribute to providing value to our clients.

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you’ll be an essential part of our team by ensuring money moves between bank accounts and to suppliers in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.

About the Role

Accounts Payable - You’ll support our client base by performing weekly, semi-monthly or monthly payables in web-based accounting software (Xero, Receipt Bank, Plooto etc.), following up with clients, processing regular and urgent payments and transferring funds between bank accounts.
Support - You’ll quickly learn the accounting and payment systems that we use on a daily basis (Plooto, RBC Express, etc) to offer high-quality technical support. With guidance from the team, you’ll be monitoring our support ticketing system and swiftly dealing with customer support issues, including recommending apps and procedure changes to streamline AP processing.
Documentation - You’ll develop and document payables procedures and workflows, which will be referenced by the rest of the team as well as clients.
Investigation - You’ll work with other members of the Accounts Payable team to investigate and recommend new applications and workflows. This means that if you see an issue, you’ll have full control of fixing it.
Future Mentor - There’s room to grow in this role. We hope you’ll want to act as a mentor to new team members and continue to be an integral part of process and workflow improvements at the firm.
About You

Curious & Resourceful - You’re a quick learner who can figure things out on your own and easily adapt to changes.
Independent & Self-Starting - You’re comfortable working from home. You can remain focused and diligent in an independent work environment (although we’re only a Slack message away) and you know how to remain motivated to meet deadlines.
Detail Oriented & Organized - You have a keen eye for spotting things that appear to be out of place. You’re also highly organized and able to manage frequent requests from clients and the rest of the team.
Techy - You know your way around a computer and enjoy researching and learning new applications.
Personable - You’re personable and have great communication skills. Your writing is clear and concise, but not robotic.
Accountable - You don’t shy away from accountability. You like to get your hands dirty to get things done and take full responsibility to ensure the quality of work is high and deadlines are met.
Interested - You have some experience with or interest in accounting, bookkeeping, or payment related processes.
