REACH Orton-Gillingham Learning Centre is currently accepting resumes for full and/or part time OG Practitioner positions at our North Vancouver, Langley and Richmond centres as we continue to grow. The current positions in North Vancouver can be either part time 2-3 days per week, or full time 5 days/ week. Part time positions are flexible and can be solely after school hours (3:30 - 7:30pm) or include earlier daytime hours. Full time positions are Monday to Friday for the 2020-2021 school year. Our Richmond centre is also seeking a full time and a part time OG Practitioner. We are flexible with our working hours so that our staff can enjoy the work/ life balance that works for them.
REACH is a professional academic remediation centre, formed by a leading Orton-Gillingham trainer, author and specialist, created as specialized centres focused on assisting individuals who are struggling to learn to read and write.
Our teaching staff are highly trained and enjoy a warm, professional and supportive teaching/ learning environment. We work with amazingly creative, talented, intelligent children with language-based learning difficulties (including dyslexia) in 1:1 or small groups. We offer a huge library of OG teaching resources to help minimize lesson preparation time and highly accredited supervising and mentoring support for our teachers. Our staff enjoy a school- term schedule that includes two weeks off at Christmas and at spring break, and an optional five or six week summer teaching schedule. Full time teachers (24-30 teaching hrs per week) enjoy great opportunities for learning and advancement within our organization and extended health benefits. Our wonderful teachers are creative, patient, understanding, energetic, and truly passionate about supporting our students with dyslexia and language-based learning difficulties. Interested applicants require Orton-Gillingham certification and/or multisensory math training among their other university education qualifications. Completion of a certified OG training program is required. Background in special education / learning difficulties / dyslexia is required. Must have excellent command of the English language. Additional OG training provided for the right teaching candidates.
