Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service Associate to join our retail team. This role is vital in providing exceptional service to our customers, managing transactions efficiently, and creating a welcoming shopping environment. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a professional manner
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling and credit transactions
- Provide product demos and explain features to customers interested in technology or other merchandise
- Upsell products and services to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and restocking shelves as needed
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a positive shopping experience
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve multiple customers efficiently
- Practice excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online channels
- Keep the checkout area organized and clean, adhering to organizational standards
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic merchandising concepts is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and maintain organization during high-volume periods
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers through friendly communication and product knowledge
- Experience with upselling techniques and product demonstrations will be beneficial for success in this role
