The HPB Oncology Research group is a large multidisciplinary team of physician investigators studying translational, epidemiologic and therapeutic questions with the aim to bring novel findings into the clinic. We are seeking an experienced Research Associate to join our team and to be part of this rich clinical and translational research portfolio. The successful candidate will manage several large programmatic/clinical data sets including data extraction, metrics reporting, database design, multiple CAPCR submissions and other duties assigned by the Research Program Manager.

The Research Associate participates in the coordination of clinical trials from protocol review and approval through to activation, follow up and trial closure. Principal responsibilities include research ethics board submissions, regulatory file maintenance, monitoring and promoting the quality and integrity of data and recording clinical trial data in case report forms (CRF’s). The coordination and monitoring of data is performed in accordance with the trial protocol, hospital and departmental guidelines and professional standards of practice. Data is assessed, compiled, recorded and submitted to cooperative groups and/or pharmaceutical companies or used for internal Princess Margaret studies. All data must be complete, accurate, timely and must be in compliance with applicable ICH-GCP, FDA and US federal code and Tri-Council regulations. The Research Associate must be able to interpret the applicable regulations in order to ensure compliance. Quality assurance procedures are utilized to ensure high quality data is obtained.

The successful candidate must 1) possess a Masters Degree in Epidemiology or an acceptable equivalent; 2) have a minimum of 2 years related experience or bachelor's degree with 5 years experience; 3) Ability to work with minimal direction from investigator and to provide direct supervision for assigned personnel; 4) have a strong background in HPB oncology related research in particular Hepatocelluar carcinoma (HCC), 5) proven leadership skills; 6) be able to work independently as well as directly with team members and study collaborators from different disciplines and with varying levels of technical expertise. 7) ability to design, curate, assist in critical analysis, analyze data using statistical software, interpret results and present findings; 8) possess strong presentation and writing skills.
