Job Summary
We are seeking a unicorn, in particular an experienced Maintenance Mechanic / Licensed Millwright Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will oversee maintenance and production operations, ensure equipment reliability, and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, leadership skills, and proficiency with various manufacturing tools and CAD software. The position plays a critical role in maintaining optimal production efficiency and safety standards.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, calipers, hand tools, and welding techniques.
- Perform electrical repairs.
- Trouble shoot Die issues in presses and roll forming machines.
- Ability to set-up and operate all shop equipment.
- Oversee repair and assembly of machinery, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD for designing or modifying machine components and schematics.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies to ensure operational readiness.
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians on proper use of tools, safety procedures, and technical skills.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize machine performance and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and continuous improvement.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks for design and schematic interpretation.
- Tool and die experience would be a tremendous assest.
- Strong knowledge of programming, milling machines, and machining processes.
- Mechanical expertise with hands-on experience in welding, assembly, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and using hand tools.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints accurately.
- Excellent math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments.
- Leadership capabilities to supervise staff effectively while fostering a safety-conscious work environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments, machining techniques, and equipment calibration tools like calipers. - Experience working with stamping presses and roll forming equipment.
- Proven experience commissioning of stamping dies and tooling, performing internal tryouts, troubleshooting issues during initial runs, and making necessary adjustments to meet production specifications and deadlines.
- Ability to disassemble, repair, and troubleshoot plant machines.
- Ability to overhaul, rebuild, and troubleshoot plant machines.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Primarily will work in production and/or warehouse setting with semi-private office.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Frequent lifting, bending and standing.
