Job Description- Payroll Technician
The Payroll Technician reports to the CFO and is the primary contact responsible for effective control and processing of payroll transactions for assigned entity within an integrated information system. Requires strong legal skills, close attention to detail, high level of data entry accuracy, strong Microsoft excel skills, and excellent communication skills.
Enroll new joiners in payroll system, generate employees ID numbers
Edit end of employment documents & records of employments
Verify and analyze attendance records in Time Management payroll system and verify management team schedules
Verify and analyze personal / sick days, vacation days and additional hours for every pay period
Create employee files for hiring and employment termination notices in the computer IS
Confirm modifications to employee files (changes in salary, premiums, retroactive pay, insurance)
Process payroll for several Provinces (ON, QC, AB)
File and maintain archives of various payroll files
Calculate payroll provisions every month by running simulations with the software
Assist Finance Manager for annual auditing tasks
Extract reports from the software & provide monthly payroll indicators to Management of Newrest Canada
Enroll employees in Health Insurance web portal for health benefits coverage
Edit and process annual fiscal year end statements through the payroll software (employees T4, company summaries, EHT, etc)
Collect and control & file different HR forms
Administer payroll system, affecting gains / deductions codes aligned with corporate general accounting charter
Perform other general job-related duties
