We’re looking for an experienced Residential Construction Foreperson to lead crews, manage day-to-day site operations, and deliver high-quality residential projects across renovations, additions, and custom home builds.
Urbacity is a design-build firm specializing in complex residential construction. This role requires someone who understands the full construction lifecycle, works closely with designers and trades, and ensures projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Crew Management
- Lead, supervise, and motivate crews and subcontractors
- Assign daily tasks and maintain schedule and quality standards
- Coordinate day-to-day site activities and workflow
- Track crew hours, attendance, and productivity
Site Operations & Construction Execution
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Perform and oversee hands-on construction work as needed
- Ensure all work meets drawings, specs, and Ontario Building Code
- Complete quality checks throughout all construction phases
Project Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, designers, and Build Manager
- Consult with designers to maintain design intent and architectural details
- Ensure compliance with applicable building code requirements on site
- Execute work plans and report progress, issues, and delays
- Identify field issues early and communicate solutions
- Adjust sequencing to maintain schedule and hit milestones
Client Interaction & Professionalism
- Work professionally in client-facing environments
- Maintain a clean, respectful, and organized jobsite
- Communicate clearly with clients when required on site
- Represent the company through professional conduct and appearance
Health, Safety & Site Conditions
- Enforce OHSA regulations and company safety policies
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure proper PPE use
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite at all times
Site Support (Materials, Logistics & Reporting)
- Manage tools, equipment, and on-site materials
- Coordinate deliveries, staging, and material organization
- Identify material needs and shortages in advance
- Assist with progress photos, reports, and punch lists
- Coordinate with municipal inspectors for site visits
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Technical Skills
- 3+ years experience as a Foreperson
- Strong, hands-on experience across all construction phases
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and scopes of work
- Experience working with designers and maintaining design intent
Safety & Knowledge
- Working knowledge of OHSA requirements
- Strong understanding of residential construction safety practices
- Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code considered an asset
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in active site conditions
- Comfortable standing, climbing, and performing physical tasks
Availability & Logistics
- Valid G driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Full-time availability, Monday to Friday

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
