Labourer I – Roads

Reporting to the Foreman of Roads, the Labourer I is a member of the Infrastructure Management team. Working under close supervision the Labourer I is required to perform a variety of duties which include maintenance of roads (crack sealing, asphalt patching) and signs, CB cleaning, operation of light duty vehicles and equipment, and assist in the operation of the Transfer and Recycle Station as required.
The successful candidates will have a Class 5 Operator’s License. Previous experience in road maintenance would be an asset. Good organizational and excellent customer service skills, with the ability to adapt to emerging situations and changing priorities are essential. This is a physically demanding position; incumbents will be required to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions. This position requires your commitment for the duration of the season. Candidates are required to provide a current drivers abstract at time of interview.
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
Rate of Pay: $19.41 - $21.35 per hour
Hours of Work: 80 hours biweekly
