Position: Welder/Fitter
Reports To: Operations Manager or Shop Supervisor
JCT Metals Inc. is looking for an experienced Welder Fitter for our evening shift to join our growing team. The hours for this shift is Monday - Thursday, 4:30pm-2:30am, with Fridays available for Overtime (Optional).
Experience in Miscellaneous Metals, Structural Steel, and Custom Steel Fabrication would be an asset but, on site training is available for interested candidates
Job Responsibilities:
· Use standard shop tools & equipment, such as Measuring Tape, Grinders, Squares, Calipers, Oxy-Acetylene Torches, Ironworker, Bandsaws, Drill Presses etc.
· Operate Overhead Cranes, Forklifts - In-house Training can be provided
· Read & understand shop fabrication drawings with thorough interpretation of welding symbols
· Welding of steel components as per shop drawings provided, using MCAW, FCAW & GMAW welding processes
· Identify, tag and prepare finished parts and assemblies for shipping
· Assist to maintain production schedules and ensure all critical deadlines are met
· Work independently with minimum supervision
· Work flexible hours if required
· Maintain a clean and safe work area.
· Work safely and responsibly within the Company rules & regulations
Requirements, Experience & Qualifications:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Possession of current & transferrable CWB welding ticket (MCAW/FCAW – Flat position at a minimum) considered an asset
· High school diploma or equivalent
