Job Summary
Progressive Woodbridge Manufacturer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all maintenance activities within their manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will lead a team of technicians, ensure the reliability and safety of equipment, and implement preventative maintenance strategies. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills to maintain optimal operational efficiency and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead maintenance team members, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Oversee the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, and low voltage systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Manage projects related to equipment upgrades, repairs, or installations ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards across all maintenance operations.
- Coordinate with production departments to minimize disruptions during maintenance activities.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work orders, inspections, and repairs for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Be available on call for emergency support if needed as shifts run 24/7
Skills
Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
Must hold a valid Ontario 442A or 309A / Electrical Trades License
Valid Industrial Mechanic/Millwright License strongly preferred (Dual License)
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred
Additional certifications in electrical systems and safety
Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems in an industrial setting, with expertise in plastic extruder machinery, robotic pick and place systems, PLCs, drives, AC and DC motors
Proven experience in PLC, drive programming and can able to modify or write PLC ladder logic diagrams
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial maintenance practices, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and low voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for scheduling and tracking maintenance activities.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a team and foster a safety-conscious work environment.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience; HVAC expertise is a plus.
- Effective communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination.
