Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | Tuesday–Saturday
Braeburn Farms is seeking an experienced and motivated Equine Operations Coordinator to work alongside our Director of Equine Development. This is a hands-on role for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and confident working both independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will help oversee the daily care and management of our horses with a key component being the retired horses, while supporting the overall operation of the farm.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the care, grooming, and well-being of retired horses
- Monitor horse health, body condition, and weight management
- Assist with turnout, mucking, and daily barn chores
- Maintain feed and supplement programs in collaboration with the Director
- Track inventory and coordinate grain, and supply orders
- Assist with paddock management and general farm maintenance
- Support daily staff operations and help ensure a smooth-running facility
- Oversee horses and staff during the winter months while the Director is away competing in Florida
- Work day averages 7:30 - 3:30
Qualifications
- Previous equine experience required
- Riding skills are considered an asset but are not required as riding is not a primary responsibility of this position
- Strong horse handling and horse care knowledge
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated
- Comfortable taking initiative and working independently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable transportation required
- Flexibility, as horse care priorities and appointments with veterinarians, farriers, and other service providers may occasionally require adjustments to the daily routine
