The distribution center Human Resources Representative will provide generalist Human Resources support to the RDC team by advising and providing coaching on inquiries and concerns while proactively enhancing the employee experience and ensuring all people processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner. You will have experience responding to inquiries on various matters, providing guidance to Coaches and Managers on people issues and/or questions that arise in a distribution environment.

The position schedule is from Wednesday to Saturday (10 hours per day).

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Champions the facility’s recognition, positive employee relations and safety initiatives.
  • Provides guidance, coaching and consultation regarding leading people and management best practices to develop site people leaders and advices them on matters related to company policy and employment legislation.
  • Supports the employee relations processes including leading workplace investigation workplace (harassment, discrimination, etc), coordinating presence management initiatives, writing corrective letters and providing coaching on best practices.
  • Partners with location management team to engage and coach warehouse associates.
  • Ensures the recruitment, employment, payroll, and benefit programs are followed in accordance with Company guidelines and partners with COEs on these matters as required.
  • Leads the strategic implementation of staffing, training, developing, and retention of all location personnel.
  • Liaises with claims management and local management to ensure early and safe return to work initiatives are executed and that WSIB reporting is completed within required timelines.
  • Tracks and reports various workforce metrics (attendance, turnover, staffing, etc.)
  • Maintains all employee files to ensure legal compliance of all administrative records.
  • Understand the general business conditions that affect the industry, function and region while staying current on provincial and Federal legislation related to employment and trends in HR.

Qualification Standards:
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in a generalist Human Resources role; preferably in a distribution, warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation is an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge employment legislation.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
  • Leverages strong interpersonal/ communication skills in order to influence others and work effectively at several levels of the organization and across multiple functional areas.
  • Is process-oriented and has a strong bias to action.
  • Enjoys driving the resolution of problems and is motivated by an environment of constantly taking on new challenges.
