Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our construction team as a Carpentry Apprentice / Framer. As a Carpentry Apprentice / Framer, you will play a crucial role in assisting with various tasks on construction sites. This is a physically demanding position that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 2 years minimum framing / carpentry experience preferred, but willing to hire the right motivated candidate with less experience and a strong willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the set-up and clean-up of construction sites
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Operate construction tools / equipment
- Perform carpentry tasks, such as measuring, cutting, and assembling material
- Framing walls, floors, and roofs
- Install windows, doors and other fixtures
- Install metal and trim
- Read blueprints and follow building plans
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
Requirements
- 2 years minimum framing / carpentry experience preferred
- Knowledge and proficiency in building methods, tools, and equipment used in framing / carpentry
- Comfortable with working at heights
- Must have own transportation and valid driver's license.
- Punctual and reliable
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to multi-task and follow instructions and work well in a team
- Well developed problem solving skills
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods of time
- Some personal tools (pouch, hammer, tape measure, work boots, etc.)
- Attention to detail and accuracy required and ability to work efficiently
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work unsupervised
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
