Job Summary
Our clients is seeking a licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician with strong experience in diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding vehicle transmissions. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced transmission repair shop, performing inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on automatic and manual transmissions as well as related drivetrain components.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically skilled, and able to diagnose complex transmission issues efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues using computerized diagnostic equipment and road testing.
- Remove, inspect, repair, and reinstall automatic and manual transmissions.
- Perform transmission rebuilds, clutch replacements, and torque converter repairs.
- Inspect and repair drivetrain components, including differentials, axles, and transfer cases.
- Conduct transmission fluid flushes and filter replacements.
- Identify worn or damaged components and recommend necessary repairs.
- Perform general automotive repairs as required (brakes, suspension, cooling systems).
- Test vehicles after repair to ensure proper operation and quality of work.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
- Follow all shop safety procedures and industry regulations.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
Required Qualifications
- Valid 310S Automotive Service Technician License (Ontario).
- Minimum 3–5 years of automotive repair experience, preferably with transmission work.
- Strong knowledge of automatic and manual transmission systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic scanners and shop equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid G Class Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with transmission rebuilding and overhaul.
- Experience with domestic and import vehicles.
- Experience using shop management or diagnostic software.
- Strong understanding of electronic transmission controls.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work under vehicles for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with tools and machinery.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
