Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Design Consultant to join our team. This role involves engaging with clients to understand their needs, presenting design solutions, and guiding them through the selection process for high-end products. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, experience with design tools and premium custom projects. Multilingual abilities and experience in retail design are highly valued. Duties
- Engage with customers to assess their design needs and preferences through personalized consultations.
- Present product demos, including furniture, fixtures, or renovation materials, highlighting features and benefits.
- Utilize SketchUp or CAD software to create visual representations of design concepts for clients.
- Conduct inside and outside sales activities, including upselling high-end products and managing account relationships.
- Manage POS systems for transactions, cash handling, and processing payments efficiently.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with clients to close sales while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Assist with merchandising efforts to display products effectively within the showroom or retail space.
- Support renovation and construction projects by providing expert advice on product selection and installation options.
- Develop marketing strategies to attract new clients and retain existing customers through excellent service and product knowledge.
- Maintain organized records of customer interactions, sales activities, and project details for effective account management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outside sales, retail sales, or inside sales within a design or renovation environment.
- Proficiency with SketchUp, CAD software, or similar design tools is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to upsell products confidently.
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Knowledge of renovation, construction processes, and merchandising principles.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math for transactions.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple client accounts and projects efficiently.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
- Familiarity with marketing strategies relevant to high-end sales environments.
