Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a full-time opportunity for an Cyber Security Specialist. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB.
As a Cyber Security specialist – Security Architecture at Sobeys you will be:
- Developing comprehensive security architectures, frameworks, and solutions tailored to the organization’s needs.
- Conducting Threat Risk Assessments for any Technology Related implementations in Sobeys.
- Contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities for improvement.
- Identify and document all Technology Related risks in the IT Risk register in alignment with the IT Risk management program.
- Proactively identify potential security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks before they can be exploited by malicious actors.
- Develop comprehensive threat models to understand and anticipate potential attack vectors.
- Conduct security assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures and identify areas for improvement.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, IT, and Enterprise Architects

Your experience and resume will show us:
- 2 - 4 years of experience in Threat Risk management and/or Cyber project management in an Information Technology Procurement function is preferred.
- Experience working in a global IT Service environment with vendor relationship/portfolio management experience.
- Understanding of network security architecture, wireless security and Application Security.
- Azure, GCP and AWS Services Knowledge would be an asset.
- Experience with Threat Modelling Tool or OWASP Top 10 would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of Risk Management standard and frameworks (NIST, ISO, COSO, etc.)
- Hold a professional certification (CRISC, CIA, CISA, CISM, etc).
Excellent knowledge of IT Controls, IT Security, and strong knowledge of ISO 27001/27002, NIST, CSF and ITIL frameworks.
