Join our dynamic automotive team as an Automotive Shop Assistant! In this energetic role, you will support the daily operations of our repair shop by assisting mechanics and technicians with vehicle maintenance and repair tasks. Duties
- Assist mechanics with vehicle inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Prepare work areas by organizing tools, parts, and equipment for efficient workflow.
- Perform heavy lifting of vehicle parts, tires, and equipment safely and effectively.
- Organize seasonal tire storage contracts and tire storage for easy effective retrieval.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop to promote safety and productivity.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
- Work doing detail inspection and clean up of customer vehicles prior to customer pick up as needed.
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in automotive repair processes
- Experience with hand tools, and heavy lifting is mandatory.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work efficiently in a team setting
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety standards
- Mechanic experience or related background is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing, bending, and working in various shop conditions.
- CSA approved safety footwear will be needed and are to be worn at all times and all OSSA rules adhered too.
