At $1,300 gold, Brucejack now has an estimated after-tax net present value at a 5% discount rate of $2.59 billion over a 14-year mine life.

About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our maintenance team at the Brucejack Mine in Northwestern, British Columbia.

Located approximately 65 kilometers from Stewart, BC, you will report to the Access Road and Lower Camps Manager or designate, and work a rotating schedule encompassing 13 days on, 13 days off with 2 travel days.

To ensure all mechanical mobile equipment related to the building, construction and site operation(s) are maintained in safe and working order, while supporting.The position also ensures compliance with all Pretivm Health & Safety and other relevant policies and regulations.

Responsibilities will include:
Check bulldozers, cranes, graders and other heavy construction, and mining equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
Service attachments and working tools such as harvesting and tillage equipment, blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
Participate in any other site specific training
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Trade qualification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic (Technician)
Interprovincial (Red Seal) certification
Minimum 4 years’ experience in the maintenance of diesel and gasoline mobile and stationary equipment, preferably in an industrial or heavy industry setting
Experience with maintenance of underground mobile equipment would be an asset
Valid driver’s license for any vehicle that may be utilized for the job
Certification in workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS)
Certification in Transportation of dangerous goods (TDG)

You will also possess:
A minimum of a valid Class 5 driver’s license or higher
The ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift and maintain high levels of performance over 12 hour shifts
The ability to pass mandatory medical/drug/alcohol testing and a criminal background check
