- Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced, compassionate and energetic Personal Support Workers (PSW) to support my son, a non-verbal autistic adult, in community-based activities and daily outing.
The individual is a high-energy individual who enjoys riding public transit, swimming, park and exploring the community, and participating meaningful activities.
He requires support from someone who can effectively communicate with him, understand his unique needs, and provide appropriate supervision and guidance.
Due to limited awareness of safety concerns, the successful candidate must be attentive, proactive, and comfortable supporting an individual who requires close supervision in community settings.
Responsibilities
- -Accompany him on community outings and recreational activities.
- - Support participation in swimming, transit rides, volunteering, and other community programs.
- - Encourage independence while ensuring safety and well-being
- - Build a positive and trusting relationship through patience and effective communication
- - Assist with social and community engagement opportunities
Qualifications
- -Experience supporting autistic adult individual, particularly
- -Understanding of autism spectrum disorder and person-centered support
- -Energetic, reliable, patient, and outgoing personality
- -Vehicle is an asset but not required; applicants with or without a car are welcome
-Available weekdays or weekend shift, flexible
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
