Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in need of support in their daily lives. This role is vital in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for clients across various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for caregiving and a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for others. Prior experience in senior care, working with individuals with disabilities, or dementia care is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications accurately according to care plans and protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Support clients with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Monitor clients’ health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques to ensure safety during movement
- Follow care plans meticulously, ensuring all client needs are met with compassion and professionalism
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, medication administration, and working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform caregiving duties including cleaning, meal preparation, and personal assistance
- Valid certification or training in caregiving or personal support work is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work independently while following established care protocols
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; a commitment to providing consistent, quality care
