Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support the overall health and well-being of our patients. Duties
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Manage patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and treatment plans
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient concerns and ensuring a comfortable experience
- Support pediatric patients with gentle care tailored to their needs
- Assist with orthodontic procedures when necessary, including appliance adjustments and patient education
- Maintain a sterile environment by following infection control protocols
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in good standing
- New grads are welcome.
- Experience with Dentrix or similar dental office management software is an asset but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse patient populations
- Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred
- Dental assisting experience is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
