As a diversified 3PL company, Scout purchases a variety of transportation and distribution related products and services across North America, including managing relationships with a large number of carriers (trucking companies).
As a Carrier Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in identifying the right carrier partners to meet our strategic objectives, negotiating short and long-term contracts, and developing productive and mutually beneficial long-term relationships.
Desired Skills and Experience
Proven track record in sourcing, selecting and managing carriers in the US and Canada
Process and KPI driven approach to selecting and managing carriers
Effective in negotiating both spot and contract pricing
Outstanding written and oral communication skills, in fluent English (other languages considered an asset)
A positive, friendly attitude – you always want to be part of the solution
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and strong organization and time management skills
Strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications.
The successful candidate will also have at least three (3) years of proven 3PL work experience in a fast-paced, transportation purchasing related role.
This role does require occasional travel within Canada and the US.
