NAIT’s Department of Athletics invites applicants for the position of Assistant Women’s Varsity Hockey Coach.

Functions and Responsibility:
Under the supervision of the Athletics Manger and the Women’s Head Hockey Coach, this position will assist with the coaching of the hockey program by:
Assisting the Head Coach in organization, administration and implementation of the hockey program
Assisting in team video, individual video and team evaluation
Assisting the Head Coach with yearly planning and schedules on-ice sessions
Assisting in scouting, recruiting and player evaluations for perspective student athletes
Assisting with the purchasing and inventory of hockey equipment and supplies
Assisting the Head Coach and the game day staff with promotional activities and special events for the hockey program
Assisting in coordinating and organizing community activities
Maintaining the program’s relationship with NAIT Hockey Alumni (OHAA) & (WHOAA)
Assuming the head coaches’ duties and responsibilities should the head coach be absent
Lead off- ice seasonal hockey specific training program
Lead organization of NAIT’s Hockey Camps and or lead fundraising initiatives for hockey programs determined by Athletics Manager

Sensitivity and a supportive manner
Physical stamina (recommended)
Ability to develop and revise training and coaching material
Minimum of two (2) years coaching experience at the Midget/Academy, College, University, Junior or Professional level of hockey
Full certification NCCP High Performance Level (or equivalent) considered an asset
Professional/collegiate player participation may be considered in lieu of coaching experience
Remuneration: Salary - $20,000 per year on a 10-month contract.
