Overview
We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse operations, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes, mechanical knowledge, and experience with various types of equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, and cranes. The Warehouse Operator plays a vital role in maintaining safety standards and supporting the overall logistics workflow within our manufacturing and distribution facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing of goods
- Perform order picking, packing, and order fulfillment tasks to meet customer specifications
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 for inventory tracking and data entry
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment and report any mechanical issues
- Assist in construction or packaging activities as needed to support production flow
- Load and unload materials from trucks or storage areas while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with team members to meet operational goals
Requirements
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, shipping & receiving procedures, and inventory control
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more)
- Prior experience in manufacturing or construction environments is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and packaging tasks
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Valid certification for forklift or crane operation is a plus
- Prior warehouse experience including order fulfillment, load & unload activities, and heavy equipment operation is highly desirable
Pay: From $15.93 per hour
