Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Produce Manager to join our retail team. This role is vital in supporting the daily operations of the produce department, ensuring excellent customer service, effective merchandising, and efficient store management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in retail sales, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily produce department operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and pricing strategies.
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff members.
- Manage scheduling, and training & development initiatives for team members.
- Supervise staff performance, ensuring adherence to store policies and customer service standards.
- Coordinate purchasing and procurement of produce supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote produce sales and special offers.
- Monitor sales performance and contribute to sales management efforts to meet department goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers using excellent phone etiquette and organizational skills.Qualifications
- Proven supervisory or team management experience within retail or grocery environments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on training & development and employee coaching.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional attitude and attention to detail.
