Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter/Finisher to join our construction team. This role involves installing, finishing, and ensuring the quality of tile work in various residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation and tile laying, with the ability to interpret blueprints and work efficiently on-site. Duties
- Measure, cut, and install tiles according to project specifications and blueprints
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives or mortar
- Finish tile edges with caulking and grout for a seamless appearance
- Use hand tools such as trowels, cutters, and levels to ensure precise installation
- Read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to coordinate project tasks
- Perform minor carpentry tasks related to tile installation or surface preparation
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure safety protocols are followed throughout the job site
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools used in tile setting and finishing
- Construction experience, particularly in flooring installation and tile laying
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Strong knowledge of caulking techniques and finishing details
- Experience with carpentry or handyman tasks is a plus
- Good physical stamina for lifting, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship and durability of finished surfaces
