Prairie Mobile Communications is looking for an experienced 12-volt equipment technician who can move into an installation position with minimal training. We sell and install communications equipment such as two-way radios, mobile cellular boosters, vehicle modems, consoles and docking stations, and many other types of vehicle equipment. The successful candidate will be able to utilize their skills, knowledge, and experience to install, repair, and maintain specialized equipment in a variety of vehicles, including emergency services vehicles. This is a full-time permanent position for our location in Calgary, AB.
The right individual will excel at working as part of a team or independently as needed, and take great pride in quality workmanship. Due to the nature of our business, the successful candidate must also participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Qualifications:
- Be mechanically inclined and able to work with and maintain hand tools and small power tools.
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role is an asset (will train the right candidate).
- Mobile Electronics Certified Professional designation is an asset but not required.
- Good communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and acceptable drivers abstract, for moving customer vehicles, and travel to customer sites using company vehicles.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance throughout employment.
- Must be physically fit with the ability to bend, stretch, stand for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
