The Parks Business Centre manages and maintains public parks and open spaces, including sports fields, passive parks, playgrounds, regional and local public pathways, the public urban forest, outdoor rinks and natural areas. Horticultural Information Services are also offered, focusing on disease control, weed control, wise water use and integrated pest management. We also manage and maintain the public cemetery, providing a broad range of internment options. We are looking for a variety of experienced seasonal labourers to perform safe and efficient manual labour activities in the following areas:

Mowing
String trimming
Weeding
Litter Control
Pruning
Water Truck Operation (Class 3 License plus Air)
You need a high school diploma and previous relevant work experience. You must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license (experience with trailers is an asset). Incumbents demonstrate good customer service skills, positive attitude, and the ability to work in all types of weather. Candidates will participate in Basic Safety training as required, and must demonstrate good customer service skills.

Weather permitting; we anticipate offering 40 hours per week through the season. There may be the occasional weekend shift required to assist with Town events. Two seasonal terms are available:

  • April to October
  • May to August
