Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, and preparing sauces
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient food production
- Follow proper food handling procedures to minimize waste and maintain freshness
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a line cook or prep cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food service regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects
Skills:
- Cooking: Proficient in cooking techniques, including grilling, sautéing, frying, baking, etc.
- Food Service: Familiarity with standard food service practices, such as portion control and plating presentation.
- Food Handling: Knowledge of proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and prevent cross-contamination.
- Food Preparation: Ability to efficiently prepare ingredients for cooking, including cutting, peeling, marinating, etc.
- Kitchen: Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment, following recipes and working with various kitchen equipment.
- Meal Preparation: Understanding of meal preparation processes from start to finish.
