Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver & Mover to join our team. This role involves wrapping furniture for moving, packing items, loading furniture and packed items onto the truck, moving, unloading, putting furniture and packed items in place, assembling/disassembling furniture, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in residential moving. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction are top priorities. This is a part-time position with a minimum guarantee of 15 hours per week after the first three weeks.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 16-foot cube truck
- Load, unload, and transport furniture and household items with care
- Pack, unpack, and organize belongings in clients’ homes and retirement communities
- Disassemble and reassemble furniture as needed
- Manage inventory of bins, boxes, and moving supplies
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure company truck is clean, organized, and properly secured
- Exercise sound judgment to prioritize tasks efficiently on job sites
- Complete daily timecards accurately and promptly
- Handle valuable and fragile items with exceptional attention to detail
- Provide compassionate, patient support to senior clients during emotionally sensitive transitions
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while working inside private homes
- Represent the company positively when interacting with clients and their families
- Adapt to varying duties depending on the needs of each project
- Willingness to learn new skills (fragile packing techniques, picture hanging, basic tech setup, etc.)
Experience
- Previous experience in residential moving services is preferred.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments requiring physical stamina and attention to detail
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Experience and confidence driving a 16-foot cube truck
- Strong team player (we work in teams of 2–6 people)
- Professional, respectful, and well-groomed presentation
- Able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
- Comfortable working in various environments (stairs, tight spaces, hot/cold conditions)
- Comfortable working in homes with pets
- Emotionally mature, client-sensitive, and able to work with seniors experiencing major life transitions
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- No smoking/vaping during shifts
Schedule & Hours
- Shifts generally fall between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
- Hours fluctuate based on workload
- Slower weeks may have limited hours (15 hours min)
- Busy periods may involve 30+ hours per week and multiple consecutive days
- Occasional weekends may be required with advance notice
- The upcoming week’s schedule is typically released on Fridays
- Flexibility and prompt confirmation of availability are essential.
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

- Do you have at least 1 year of professional experience specifically in residential moving (e.g., wrapping furniture, loading trucks, and safely navigating tight hallways and stairs)?
- Do you currently hold a valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or higher) and are you able to provide a clean commercial driver's abstract?
- This job is physically demanding. Are you comfortable and physically able to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy items (furniture like beds, dining tables, hutches, credenza etc.) repeatedly throughout an 8 to 10-hour shift?
- Because we handle residential moves, the shifts can be unpredictable (usually Monday to Friday). Are you available to work Monday to Friday, and occasionally on the weekend?
